A study is the container that powers your recruitment campaign. It bundles who you need (eligibility criteria), where you need them (geography), and how you’re billed and capped (pricing and lead limits) into a matching engine that surfaces volunteers for your study.

Anatomy of a study

Eligibility Parameters

Define inclusion and exclusion criteria from conditions, medications, and other structured rules.

Geographic Scope

Set where volunteers must reside, from a ZIP radius up to statewide or nationwide coverage.

Enrollment Goals

Track progress toward a target, and set the study-level caps that control study availability.

Study Formats

Choose site-based, virtual, or hybrid delivery. Make sure site information is set up for site-based or hybrid delivery.

Study lifecycle

A study moves through a fixed set of statuses:

Draft

Create a new study and configure it. At this stage it stays invisible to volunteers and fields are freely editable. You may edit a study at any point.
2

Active

Once launched, volunteer matching against your criteria begins. Some fields (name, study type, delivery model, phase, and protocol number) lock permanently and cannot be changed.
3

Paused

Pause recruitment at any time. A paused study can be resumed back to active or marked as completed or ended.
4

Ended or Completed

After a study is marked as completed or ended, no changes can be made.
